ENDESA

About the project
Title: Nexo
Type of work: Ethnography, market research, strategy design, service design, prototype.
Date: 2015- 2016
Nexo was an Endesa initiative focused on the world of home domotic system. Our role was to investigate the domotic market in Spain, with the aim of understanding the market moment, reviewing current systems (artifacts, needs and opportunities) and finding success stories.
Design
With the conclusions obtained from the research, we designed an ethnography based on exploratory interviews on a selected and representative sample of people. In these interviews we deepen into the technological level of the users, their potential interests, and the possible obstacles when dealing with a home automation product.

In collaboration with Indra, Endesa developed, in parallel to our research, a collection of high-fidelity prototypes with which we could launch a pilot. These pilot test consiting in verify the viability of bringing these products to market. In the pilot we observed all the service´s life cycle, from the moment of the purchase, the management in the shipment, how the users assembled the system. Once the installation was done and through use diaries and interviews, we could conclude about the needs to be addressed in the future.
